Hi All,
Appreciate if I can know more details on the Variable Pay module related queries below:
1) Do we have specific logic deciding on what wage type the bonus payments will be paid to an employee depending on career level?
(Notes: currently Based of Career level and your pension plan the Abinitio Technology based program is run to identify the wage type for the Bonus amount. Our Variable pay module does not have this capacity to perform this action currently)
2) Do we have a scenario where employee will have 2 bonus payments, 1 pensionable and 1 non-pensionable?
(Notes: Currently the Abinitio Technology based program splits the Bonus amount into 2 records as a pensionable and non-pensionable wage type for a single Bonus payment per employee ( 2 records to IT 15).Do we have a process/ method to ensure the SF VP module will distribute the Bonus amount into pensionable or non-pensionable amount and then loaded it to sap HCM)
3) How do you display employee movements that could change an employee’s bonus plan or bonus target?
4) Are you scheduling Variable Pay Update job on your own?
(Note: currently this job is scheduled by Vendor in provisioning once a year)
5) Do you publish bonus payments in SuccessFactors EC and replicated to payroll system?
Request clarification before answering.

#1- Yes we can fine tune the configuration at that level - as long as we have all the wage types and job information to build the if-then rules.
#2- Yes we can configure the system in a way that one employee gets 2 bonus payments (you will need 2 Variable Pay templates most likely to achieve this).
#3- They are captured in what is called Variable Pay Employee history which you can see for example in the recording of this blog and in screenshot I made below. Data is retrieved automatically from EC profile over a whole fiscal year and when a change happens based on the rules we set up it creates a new record in the table below which we then use to assign bonus plans and eventually calculate payout.

#4- Yes everything can be done from within SuccessFactors admin screens.
#5- Yes we publish from Variable Pay screens directly to non-recurring paycomponents of EC.
All the best
Xavier
