With the 1H 2023 release now in preview (as of April 28) and moving into production soon (June 2), we are pleased to highlight the following SAP SuccessFactors Human Experience Management (HXM) Suite innovations, designed to help you create a more agile, engaged, and future-ready workforce:

Build a future-ready workforce

Dynamic teams: General availability, Linking of OKRs, Report stories
We’re happy to share dynamic teams is generally available in the 1H 2023 release. This was previously open to all customers with early adopter care in the 2H 2022 release and we’ve had some great feedback from the customers using this functionality either in production or preview.

In addition to moving to GA, we also have a few new features to highlight. First, team members can now link objectives and key results (OKRs) to their personal performance goals within SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals. This will give managers improved line of sight into the contributions of their employees – and allow employees themselves to align their dynamic teams work to applicable performance goals.

As part of this release, dynamic teams data is now integrated with SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics. The creation of report stories gives leaders greater visibility into the volume and composition of dynamic teams across their organization, as well as the ability to track team progress with OKR data across lines of business and departments.

In addition, to create a better experience for teams just getting started, we’ve enhanced the welcome message to provide tips and best practices for success. This was based on customer feedback from our early adopter care program – a great example of how our customer programs are helping to influence our solutions and experiences.

SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace: Opportunities based on growth portfolio, Job recommendations
With this release, we are introducing the ability for employees to search and filter opportunities based on their growth portfolio attributes, allowing employees to quickly find relevant growth opportunities that align to their skills, competencies, and aspirations. In addition, job postings from the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting solution can now be surfaced as recommendations within the SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace solution to support an increased focus on internal mobility.

SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals: Pre-populated goal library
Continuing our focus on reimagining the goal management user experience, we are introducing a new pre-populated goal library. This allows employees to search and select from a catalog of goals, making the goal-setting process simpler and more powerful with suggestions that help employees craft more ambitious and meaningful goals. In addition, with new sub-goal tables, users can now add targets and milestones to increase granularity when tracking goal execution.

Talent intelligence hub: Open early adopter, Growth portfolio across the suite, Skills inference
In this release, we’re opening access to the talent intelligence hub to all interested early adopters. This includes the new growth portfolio, which allows individuals to add, rate, and accept recommended skills and competencies without using performance management forms. The growth portfolio will power several SAP SuccessFactors solution areas, including recruiting, talent management, learning, and compensation. In addition, with the new attributes library, admins now have the flexibility to configure and track any number of custom attributes.

Drive employee engagement with elevated experiences

User experience: Horizon theme, Custom and new quick action cards
In this release, the new Horizon theme is turned on by default, delivering a simple and modern user interface. This visual change – which is designed to increase employee engagement – will be applied to all employee-facing pages by the end of 2023.

We’re also introducing the ability to create up to five custom quick actions that allow customers to feature their prioritized content at the top of the home page – for both web and mobile. Admins can determine the relative priority or hide custom quick actions based on their business needs.

We’re also delivering additional quick action cards for managers, offboarding scenarios, mentoring approvals, and profile completion reminders.

Mobile: Custom card configuration, offline learning, mentoring, time tracking
Specific to the mobile app experience, admins can now decide which custom cards will be shown on the iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile application to ensure alignment with their organizational policies and requirements.

In addition, a new offline learning capability (initially available for the iOS mobile application) allows employees to complete learning assignments without an internet connection. Once the mobile device is back online, progress and course completion are automatically updated. New mobile capabilities are also available for mentoring and time tracking.

Work tech innovation: SAP SuccessFactors + Microsoft Teams
We’ve taken a big leap forward in our vision to bring high-value actionable HR processes into the flow of work by building APIs and integrations that deliver SAP SuccessFactors experiences to several workplace technology tools, such as Microsoft Teams.

With this release, users can now trigger feedback actions, such as giving or receiving feedback, directly from a Microsoft Teams message. This feedback is automatically brought into the SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals solution without the need to switch applications. Additionally, employees can now start Microsoft Teams chats with their colleagues from the employee quick card in SAP SuccessFactors. And for customers using the SAP SuccessFactors Learning solution, approvals and overdue assignment notifications can now be triggered within Microsoft Teams.

A streamlined and intuitive configuration experience is also available to enable admins to quickly set up and customize these SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft Teams scenarios.

SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone: Home page cards in workspaces
With this release, we are bringing nine SAP SuccessFactors home page cards directly into the SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone solution. Users can now leverage existing to-do and engagement content directly within their workspaces, creating a more consistent and connected experience. For example, engagement cards for onboarding can prompt new hires to complete key tasks, helping to keep the onboarding process on track. Or time off reminder cards can help ensure employees make use of their allotted vacation time.

Support your people with agile and compliant HR

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Configurable template for concurrent employment
With this release, we are introducing a configurable template for concurrent employment in the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution. HR admins will be able to configure the “add concurrent employment” process to cater to different needs, countries, and workforces. This template provides greater flexibility by allowing admins to add, remove, and re-order standard and custom fields.

Time Management: New admin UI for work schedules, Rest periods, Public holiday handling
We continue to invest in enhancing the time off capabilities in the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution. In this release, we are improving the administrator experience by introducing a new user interface (UI) for work schedules. This list view of schedules by day will provide greater visibility into the planned and temporary work schedules of employees.

In the SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking solution, we are expanding support for complex time valuation and helping organizations to comply with mandatory work requirements with the ability to define rest periods between a clock out and clock in for shifts. Additionally, we have made improvements to public holiday handling with the ability to define work patterns, helping to ensure employees are paid accurately for work on public holidays.
