Dear All,
There are two production versions 0001 and 0002 for a finished material. When I create production order from planned order it automatically selects version 0001. If I want it to select version 0002 automatically what should I do?

Hi Hammad,
As per your querry, you want production version 0002 should be selected automatically when you create production order instead od PV 0001. If you want PV 0002 should be selected automatically then,
1. Maintain lot size of of PV 0002 to quantity which you usually use for the production. So when you create production order system will use PV0002 based on lot size.
2. Or change validity period of PV0001 to a date which is outside the planning period. So it will be no longer valid in the period in which you are creating production order.
3. As specified by experts, you can change PV selection to manual by going to transaction COR4. And change selection of PV to manual selection for your order type or you can change it by going to transaction MM02. Then lock production version by selecting locked for any usuage.
Hope this resolve your issue, please reward if it is usefull.

Avinash.

Hi Hammad,
Try this , In material master go to prod version MRP 4 screen . Select prod version 1 and go to detail and in basic date select locked for any usage .

Hy Hammad,
System select the production version automatically which is most nearest to the Order qty. If the all the criteria like Lot size , Validity are same for both producion version then you can do following settings for the your requirement.
1)Use quata arrangement (T. Code MEQ1) here you can define the which producion version has been used up to define time period and Qty.
2) In such kind of the situation where there is more than producion version are available with the same lot sizing limit, system select the Production version which comes first according to the Alphanumeric.I think you can take advantage of this function by aplying the logical nomanclature to the production versions.

Hy,
You can not change the name of producion version ones it is saved. My intention is, in futur Set the nomenclature of producion version in such a way that by default system select the most used production version first.
Now come to the current situation you can solve by following way,
1)if name change doesn't possible ,change the assigned BOM and Recipe/Routing to it.
or
2) As our other expert has suggest ,change the selection of prodction version from auto to manual selction(Transection code COR4 or OPL8).

Hi,
System will select Production version automatically by
1. Lot size
2. Date
Depends on selection criteria system will select Prod version automatically.

Hi,
Production Version selection is based on
1. Lot size
2. Validity
If these two are same both the PVs then system will select by default the first one.
look into these and change the parametrs so that system will select the 2nd PV.
otherwise do the customization settings in OPL8 for the Plant and order typ combination.
As Production Vesrion : 1 Manual Selection
