what is the differnce between partner role & partner function ?

Please elaborate with examples.

Hi,

Partner functions describe those partners which you use in your organinztion.

Ex: Customers - Sold to party etc..

All applications or industry solutions using the SAP Business partner function provides the special

business partner roles.

You can create more than one business partner role for a business partner.

Each role contains various data sets.

General data: address, personal data, bank details

CRM specific data: sales,shipping, billing etc..
