Hi all,
I'm trying to setup my Solman Maintenance Optimizer to download SP.
When I read the configuration guide. It says the prerequisite is as below :-
The Maintenance Optimizer contains a lot of scenarios for maintenence procedures. The scenarios have different prerequisites.
Basic Prerequisites
1.
You have configured the Maintenance Optimizer in the SAP Solution Manager customizing.
You must perform the following customizing activities for the Maintenance Optimizer:
*
Assign S users for the SAP Support Portal.
This activity specifies the S users (user ID for the SAP Service Marketplace) assigned to user IDs for the SAP Solution Manager.
For more information see S Users in the Maintenance Optimizer.
*
Enter user for communication with SAP Service and Support systems
2. This activity specifies the RFC connection SAP-OSS and the corresponding RFC user.
3. You have assigned product versions to the system to be maintained, in the system landscape.
You have assigned the systems to be maintained to a logical component.
Note Note
If you want to use a solution, you must assign the systems to be maintained, to the solution landscape. For more information, see Solution Manager System Landscape.
End of the note.
4.
You have installed the Download Manager locally in your workplace. The Download Manager is in the SAP Software Distribution Center in the SAP Support Portal.
Note Note
The item no2.
This activity specifies the RFC connection SAP-OSS and the corresponding RFC user. <---- Is this mean I must have install and setup my Saprouter so that the SAP OSS connection is working before I can completed the SAP Solman Maintenance Optimizer setup?
Thanks.

Dear William Neira,
) The Transport Management System (TMS) is configured. -
> Not sure, Is this mean I have to setup my TMS in all the ECC6 system? Example --> DEV, QAS and PROD. In solman you should set the TMS for the works of MOPZ.
Your answer:-
In solman you should set the TMS for the works of MOPZ. --> Is this mean, in the SOLMAN alone I should run tcode stms to configure the TMS. Just for SOLMAN only? For my ECC6.0 system. It will be another TMS.
Thanks very much.

Hi,
Just clarify my question.
I would like to run tcode "Solman_setup" to activate my Maintenance Optimizer for my new install SOLMAN & ECC6 System.
The reason is I need to download service pack for my ECC6 system.
Now I have some confusion on the "Solman_Setup" prerequisites
Prerequisites
You have installed the SAP Solution Manager and satisfied the following configuration prerequisites:
1) The license key is installed. -
>OK
2) The profile parameter /ICM_HOST_NAME_FULL or SAPLOCALHOSTFULL is set----
>OK
3) The Transport Management System (TMS) is configured. -
> Not sure, Is this mean I have to setup my TMS in all the ECC6 system? Example --> DEV, QAS and PROD.
4) The connection to the SAP backend system exists and works. -
> What is this mean? I need to Setup RFC connection manually using SM59? RFC connection from Solman to my ECC6-DEV,QAS, PRD?
5) The SAP Solution Manager Java instance is up-to-date. --> not too sure. Can someone explain how this can be checked?
Thank you very much.

The RFC is set in tcode OSS1, menu parameter->technical settings in all systems, the RFC SAP-OSS is created automatically when you save the settings.
5) The SAP Solution Manager Java instance is up-to-date. --> not too sure. Can someone explain how this can be checked?
I think this means that you have updated your Java instance, latest Support Packages installed.

Hi all,
Thanks for your reply.
I have managed to get the Solman_setup screen now.
The first step is to go thru the 1)Initial configuration then 2) Basic configuration to setup the Maintenance Optimizer.
At the first step of Initial Config ---> Create Solman_Admin --> Successful
Now at second step Initial Config--> Technical setting --> I have error "System ASM does not exist" E:000"
May I know how can I resolved this? There is not much information for me to troubleshoot.
Thanks.

SAP-OSS must have a S-user/password where MOPZ will use this connection to stablish connection with SMP.
Don't forget to activate the MOPZ BC-SETS in MOPZ setup. In step 7 of Basic Configuration of SOLMAN_SETUP the MOPZ BC-Sets are activated automatically.

Hi,
Yes your SAPOSS connection must be working and you can configure the SAPROUTER to provide the connection string int he RFC.
