SAP GUI 7.40 installation problem

Hi

just I’ve installed 751 version (ABAP AS 751 SP02 on Linux) and can not to go on with SAP GUI (attached to downloaded files is 7.40 ver). Receive information:

This SAP Front End patch cannot be applied. Either the installed components are already on the same patchlevel or the components to be patched are not installed.

Would be possible to ask for help ?

Hi Rafal,

i just solve the problem. The attached file is only a patch.

Download the 7.50 SP02 pack. Inside you will find the SAPGUI4Windows instalation file.

I am also getting the same error, I have downloaded the developers edition of ABAP - "sap_netweaver_as_abap_751_sp02_ase_dev_edition" it is successfully installed on LINUX virtual machine but when I am trying to install SAP Frontend application (gui740_14-80001174.exe) I am getting this error, there are no other installation files to try. I am trying to install on Windows 10 Pro.

Hi folks,

I found the mistake and maybe I can help any others in the same situation.

I installed the GUI 7.5 which is already available and this error did not arise anymore.

Hi guys,

I had the same issue, and managed to overcome it partially by first unpacking data from the installer, and then installing from command line via NwSapSetup.exe program.

Unpack installer:
.\gui740_14-80001174.exe /X=extracted
Install SAP GUI by running following command from extracted\Setup dir:

NwSapSetup.exe /Product="SAPGUI"

Now my problem is that SAP GUI glitches, displaying not well scaled fonts, which makes unable to work normally (maybe because I use hi-res displays, both in laptop integrated one and external monitor).

yes, the same with me.

And I checked, if there is any installation by RevoUninstaller and by CCleaner.

There is no SAP GUI already installed as far I can see.

I am also facing this issue, SAP need to add the missing file. They have only provided the patch but not the actual installation file for SAP GUI 740.

Could anyone add the actual installation file in below link or provide a path to get the file?

Hi all.

Well I am experiencing the same issue under Windows 10 and Windows 7.

So I tried Lukasz Janczy steps and managed to install SAP GUI on Windows 10, but then SAP GUI glitches.

Can someone please help me?

i got the same issue with the SAP GUI for Windows.

I tried SAP GUI for JAVA but i can't write anythint in any text field.

Has anyone resolve the problem?

Can you send a screenshot of this error?
Normally, this means exactly what it says, in otherwords, you have tried to patch the gui with the same patch again, which won't work. You can only either 1) Reinstall the gui with the same patch - eg patch x, or update to another patch (Current patch +1). You can never run a patch update where patch = current patch - 1
