same Message ID in two PI system?

Hello,

In my project, i have seen, two PI boxes are available, which are connected through the proxy.

How can be same message ID can be there for the messages in two PI box?

please help.

Hi shiv,

If you connect two PI dual stack boxes with XI adapter you will get the same message ID in both system.

you can also get the same message id for single stack if you connect using XI protocol over SOAP adapter. You need to add some parameter (i don't recall yet) in target URL to get the same message ID, but it is available in PI 7.31 sp06 and above.

One more thing, can we have two different message ID in two PI box, connected through XI adapater? i mean, is there any chance to generate two different message IDs

Hi Shiv,

you will always have one message id, if you connect using XI adapter. Either two PI system or PI with ECC for Proxy communication.
