Hi Experts,
We want to reset SUM because we do not need to perform the upgrade anymore.
However, the SUM is in already in the execution phase.
I run below command:
E:\usr\sap\SID\SUM\abap\bin>.\SAPup.exe reset prepare
Then it prompts error:
FATAL ERROR: System already in or after downtime, no reset possible
Please kindly advise

Hello Iqbal,
You cannot reset an update/upgrade when it is in the execution (downtime) phase.
You have to restore your system and SUM directory to point 5.5 in the preprocessing phase and then you can reset via the update menu in SUM at step 5.5.
Kind Regards,
Amerjit

Hi,
FATAL ERROR: System already in or after downtime, no reset possible
You could not reset the upgrade now as you're already entered into DOWNTIME phase,& the KBA you're following is suggesting reset of SUM during Preprocessing phase not for the downtime.
From the KBA 2011380 - Previous SUM not finished properly and asking for CLEAN MODULE PASSWORD
Reproducing the Issue
- Reset the SUM during the preprocessing step.
we do not need to perform the upgrade anymore.
If you do not need to perform upgrade anymore then you could restore the system with the backup which you've taken before entering into the downtime phase

Gaurav
