We are facing issue to open a webi document on destination after we promote it.
Is it possible to promote document from BI 4.2 SP8 to BI 4.2 SP7 environment ?

As mentioned its possible to move/promote objects from higher version to lower, but the actual ability to use those objects after promotion depends on type of object and that's where problems start. And that is why it's not supported.
