Hi Gurus,

I need to load a flat file to BI system

i have only first five fields of the flat file in the data source but the file contains around 19 coloumns

can i upload this as it is or it should be loaded with five coloumns which are in the datasource

i am excepecting answers ASAP

Yes you can load the five columns only,

But the results it depends on the data target you are loading into. If the FF has keyfigures and you are loading the KF and if the target is a DSO, will mean that the FF rows based on the sequence will be overwritten and the result may not be as expected. So design the model wisely.

Yes iam loading to a DSO using transformation, even in he transformations also there are mappings for the five coloumns only

and i dont have much knowledge on this sort of loading

the other coloumns in the file are all not keyfigures

you mean to say is the other coloumns will get overwritten by the load, right????

and clarify me that the file will not throw any error while loading to DSO ..... even if it contains more fields than Data source
