Hello Experts,

when we try to perform DB backup using BR tools from DB13 transaction, we're getting the following error:

BR0301E SQL error -31993 at location BrInitOraCreate-5, SQL statement:

BRBACKUP AT PROF_CONN */ CREATE PFILE = '/oracle/SID/18/dbs/sapSID.ora' FROM SPFILE = '/oracle/SID/18/dbs/spfileSID.ora''

ORA-31993: cannot overwrite parameter file '/oracle/SID/18/dbs/sapSID.ora'

Actually, inorder to schedule the backup successfully, we have to always delete the sapSID.ora file from the /dbs directory.

Is there anything missing in scheduling the backups? See attached screenshot "DB13_Job_log" for more information.

Any ideas are appreciated?

There was a small issue with previous patch of BR*Tools, just like documented in below SAP note:

2708468 - Corrections in BR*Tools 7.40 Patch 35

I recommend to check if you use the latest patch at all, as it does not worth to dig deeper until the latest patch got implemented.
