Simple question: You want to save an analysis workbook to the BW backend, in your favourites (now called 'My Documents'). Is it possible to create your own folder structure under here?
I've seen a couple of (unanswered) questions on this in the past, but i want to see if someone might have found a solution for this in the latest versions...
Request clarification before answering.
We are on 1.4 analysis for office. In the open dialog you cannot create new folders. You have to go through BI Launch Pad and I think 'everyone' has rights to edit their own Personal Folders area.
Maybe possible in 2.x?

Hi James,
this sounded like a good idea, but then i realized we're wanting to save the workbook to the Netweaver server, not the BI Server. (i tried to be sure but as expected the folders i created under my favorites in the launch pad don't show when i try to save a new workbook to the netweaver server).
In a similar idea, i tried to create such folders on my BW system via the GUI (in the user menu under Favorites, but also no luck)
Hi Tom. I agree, this would be a great feature. I have 2.2 SP1 installed (newest version) and do not see that capability.
You might want to consider submitting this as an idea to the SAP Idea Place. Idea Place: Enterprise Home.
There you can submit ideas for SAP development to consider implementing in future releases. Other users can vote for your idea.

Hi,
I think this option is still not available in Analysis for Office as I found it logged as a feature request, here is a screenshot and SAPs response. Hope this helps. 🙂 If you want to read the rest of the feature requests, here is the url:

Thanks
