Advantage database server - New Licence

We currently have a lot of customer who use Advantage Database Server. Any one one on version 12 we are making sure the DLL and server are on 12.0.0.2

We have gone to purchase additional licences today on https://devzone.advantagedatabase.com/rvc/ and this link currently sends me to the main SAP site.

Is there a new site where i can purchase licences?

What is the current situation with getting licences for this product?

Has anyone heard anything from anyone at all at SAP on this issue ?

My response from my direct contact at SAP for ADS was "We are looking into this and will get back to you as soon as possible".. that was 5 days ago.

I subsequently contacted SAP directly, and was told to raise an incident on the SAP ONE Launchpad, with a component BC-SYB-ADS , On attempting to do this , I get notified the specified component does not exist (despite SAP providing that as the component to use) , so am unable to raise an incident.

I couldn't create any incident either, it's as if ADS is 'gone'!

Seems like SAP is ghosting us all related to the Advantage Database server. We have reached out to every SAP contact we could find in our email histories with no response yet.

Can you please share what's in there? I was hoping to find the ADS licensing portal.

Here is what the note reads:

SAP provides mainstream maintenance for SAP Advantage Database Server with product version 12.0 (ADS 12.0) until December 31, 2022. SAP does not plan successor product versions of SAP ADS 12.0. From January 1, 2023, SAP Advantage Database Server will enter the customer specific maintenance (CSM) phase.

kandi2309 Thank you, this is helpful. Quick question, in case you know - Our company has customers we deploy ADS to as part of our own software product. Such customers need to upgrade and/or add ADS user licenses. All this to say, regardless of ADS 12 becoming, in practice, in End Of Life state, we still needs to support our customers licensing requests. By any chance, do you know if that licensing portal is available elsewhere or have any thoughts here? Thanks!

mpsap8 You're welcome! From what I've gathered and as we've seen above, ADS is EOMM, so there will likely be no more new sales. That said, existing customers should be able to continue to purchase licenses but for now, the relevant OEM personnel at SAP are still working to find a better way to continue provisioning existing customers. Should you or any other ADS client require more information, it is recommended to contact the SAP Partner support team ([email protected] CC [email protected]) OR your SAP Partner Manager. mpsap8 My company had a response from our SAP contact. The contact provided us with the ADS licences we currently required and told us they would let us know when they have a solution for us to generate our own licences again.
