Last week was truly memorable. After a few years away, I had the privilege of attending SAP TechEd in person again, this time in Berlin. Bringing together customers, partners, and SAP colleagues under one roof—the iconic Berlin Messe—for three days was a unique opportunity to both share knowledge and learn from others.
The experience began on Monday with registration. Witnessing the final preparations for the show floor, I could already sense the energy and excitement that would ignite the next day.
The following morning, as I arrived and saw the long queues, I felt grateful to be part of a company that impacts so many professionals, providing a fertile environment where technology can drive meaningful business change.
TechEd day 1
My first session with Ole Lilenthal was scheduled for 12:30 PM. I quickly realized it would be presented both on-site in the main hall and broadcast live to thousands around the world.

My stress level rose, but with solid preparation, I was confident in our message: “Extending SAP S/4HANA with SAP Build on SAP BTP has never been easier. Now, with generative AI, it’s even more accessible.” Announcing intenet-based development with SAP Build gave me the chance to introduce Vibe Coding. While many attendees were only just beginning to explore this concept, it was clear that although most had heard of generative AI’s promise, they weren’t yet familiar with its foundational pillars. We devoted significant time during and after the session to explain these concepts in depth.
Later that day, the keynote by Muhammad Alam, Dr. Michael Ameling, and Dr. Philip Herzig took place. Many exciting announcements centered on AI across various domains, especially SAP. An impressive on-stage demo of Vibe Coding with SAP Build by Friederike Marby showcased the dedication—thanks to Eric Solberg’s hard work—in making it a reality. These advancements set the stage perfectly for my upcoming sessions.
The evening concluded with a lively get-together in the main hall—a fitting end to the first day. Connecting with colleagues and reflecting on the day’s events helped clarify several questions and deepen our shared understanding.
The next day promised to be packed. Ole and I started again at 12:00 PM, that session focused on presenting the strategy for how AI is reshaping application development. We complemented our session with in-depth CAP demos, demonstrating how technology and AI can come together to serve real business needs.
Second session in the main hall
The session was so popular (see above) that a few participants approached us afterward with questions, including an ISV provider in the AI space. He shared valuable insights, noting that SAP’s innovations in application development are impressive and that many customers don’t yet realize the full extent of SAP’s capabilities. Once they do, he believes they’ll unlock AI’s potential to significantly reduce development costs. I was thrilled—this was exactly the message I hoped to convey. We exchanged details and committed to continuing the conversation with our teams.
In the afternoon, my next session was with Tim Back: an in-depth exploration of “SAP Joule for Developers: How AI Can Boost Your Development in SAP Build.” Tim delivered a comprehensive demo of both Joule for developers and new intent-based development features in SAP Build Web Studio, highlighting the latest Vibe Coding capabilities.
Tim and I just before session started
I opened the session by emphasizing that while this isn’t yet a bulletproof generative AI process, SAP is striving to make it Relevant, Reliable, and Responsible.
The day wrapped up with a celebratory dinner alongside all the SAP Build PMs—a wonderful way to mark the event’s success!
The final day focused on tying up loose ends and attending sessions led by colleagues. All in all, I had the incredible opportunity to attend SAP TechEd as a speaker. I’m truly grateful for the experience and already looking forward to the next one. Participating as a presenter at one of the premier technology conferences in the SAP ecosystem was both an honor and a challenge, leaving me inspired, enriched, and deeply connected to the community.
If you would like to try out our new SAP Build Joule for Developer together with some vibe coding capabilities, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
