We have a CO production order for which the material is backflushed.Observed that movement type 131 has happened for the material. It is also observed that 531 and 261 movement types has also happened for some materials. How is the flow normally and how does it happen? The user was trying to reverse the backflush document when he faced the issue for a material saying deficit of stock in sloc. Can somebody explain the flow of this process and how these movement type like 131,531 and 261 appear while backflushing and what propbably could be the issue while reversing the document
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Nevin,
Adding on the observations above -
When we post the Back flushing, we are posting the following goods movements as well -
a) Goods Receipts for the finished products --> with Movement type 131
b) Goods Receipts for the By-products/Co-products** --> with Movement type 531
c) Goods Issues(consumption) of components# --> with Movement type 261
** Co-products/By-products are maintained with 'negative' quantity in the BOM --> which means, the system would need to add the inventory for these products,... when producing the Header item.
# Components are maintained in the BOM with positive quantity --> And these will reduce inventory and post to the consumption
All these movements are posted with a single material document.
And when we reverse the material document or backflush entry, all these three earlier postings get reversed with 132, 532 and 262 movements respectively.

Dear Nevin,
1.During an assembly backflush in T.Code MFBF,as per the REM profile the system confirms the
GR,GI and the activities.131 movement is referred for GR and 261 is referred for GI and 531 for
By-products.
2.When you perform a document specific reversal using MF12 or document neutral reversal using
MFBF,the system carriesout corresponding reversal movement like 132,262 and 532.
3.Now only if the stock of the product (that was recieved through 131 movement) is available in
the respective storage location, you can peform a reversal of backflush.
Check and revert back.

Hi all,
i checked in mf41 and something strange with this document created. There is an exclamation mark near the posting date and on reversal it says unrestricted stock issue.Kindly suggest

The CO production order is created a material. In the BOM of the material we have only 1 material. However inside that material we have a set of other materials. Not sure how these materials are being picked up for Goods Movement

Hi Nevin,
If you have only one component(A) in the first level BOM, and the BOM components under A are getting back flushed, it is obvious that the item A is set up as a phantom item.
At the time of back flushing, system explodes the BOM for the phantom item, picks the 'Actual' items under the phantom item, and posts goods issues.
--> you can check if the phantom indicator is showing up against A in the first level BOM
--> Material master for A should have special procurement key set as 50 (check MRP2 view)
Thanks
Senthil

Hi Nevin,
You can check for phantom indicator set for the component at first level, and that will be the reason it got exploded and below level items picked for back flush as explained by Mr Senthil.
To reverse it you can cancel the material document or in MB1A you cancel with respect to order reference in the menu option selection.

Hi nevin
Normally we use 131 movement type for Repetitive Manufacturing good receipt.
R u using MFBF transaction for backflusing ? U want to reverse the all 131, 261 and 531 ?
If so, what ever the movements happened earlier, the stock should be there in that perticular location for all good receipt materials , and conusmed materials and as well by products.
So that the reversal can be done.

Thanks santhosh for quick response.while reversing the document using mfbf there was an error mentioing that there is a deficit of stock in sloc. While reversing the backflush the goods movement should be reversed automatically keeping th stock back to sloc.Dont know why this error is occuring. Can you assist. Thanks
Hello Nevin,
Depending upon your master data setup (material,BOM, routing & backflush) along with REM Profile settings, system will post relevant documents with corresponding movement types.
Like GR with 131, Goods Issue with 261 & Byproduct with 531. Check REM Profile settings in SPRO.
With reversal of backflush, below things happen in system:
- GR is reversed and the accompanying material document and full
backflushing document are indicated as cancelled.
- Goods issues for the components are reversed, that is, the component quantities are
posted back.
- The activities are reversed.
- Depending on your settings in the repetitive manufacturing profile, the system either creates a planned order for the reversed quantity or the system does not create a planned order in which case the planner has to check the situation.
Please check & revert what exactly error/issue you're getting during backflush reversal.
