Hi there,
We have a process order in status CRTD PRC APNG APRS BCRQ MANC SETC. But when user try to initiate a Read Master Data for Prod Version / Master Recipe / BOM, system is giving this error log:
No approval: production version 0001 has not been approved
Unreleased engineering change orders:
Engineering change order 500000000001 has not been released
I have checked on the Change Number for both the Master Recipe and Bill of Material and everything seems to be correct. Why does SAP prompting "No approval: production version 0001 has not been approved" and why is SAP trying to read Engineering Change Order 500000000001? This is an old one possibly the first Engineering Change Order generated...
Cheers

Hi Sundaresan,
This is a process order and upon checking the go to - header = this is not enabled.
Header menu only has these options for me: Create batch, Change net qty., Settlement rule, Documents
Checking on the status "i". these are what I can see:
Created
Pre-costed
Approval not granted
Approval withdrawn
Order to be handled in batches
Material committed
Settlement rule created
I am also checking on this issue and I think this issue is relevant to note 897899. This note advises how to prevent this issue from happening again but does not advise us how to correct the current problem. Can you please check on the note and let me know your thoughts?
Thanks.
For current status
IN BS22
select the system status I0327
IN the field RMNS- (Reread the master data)- set allowed
and then TRY
But this is not the best practice, For current Problem you can use this setting, after that you can revoke to Setting
After that U can use the note 897899. for preventing
Hi Sundaresan,
Thanks for answering all my questions. By doing this manually - setting the user status, what potential impact will this have on our process order?
We are not 100% sure as well that the note is related to our issue. Business advised me that they have raised a new ECR and link this to the recipe and have our Quality release it. But then again, the status of the process order is still stucked at APNG and reading master data resulted to similar error.
Any additional inputs? Do you have any website or reading materials (business process) or SAP Best Practice document on Process Order / Production Version / Engineering Change Management?
Cheers

Dear,
As per GMP Steps are as,
The procedure in the environment requiring an approval is the following:
-> Create
1. Create new production version, without specifying recipes and bill of material.
2. Assign a change number which is valid for the recipe and the bill of material to be entered to the production version.
3. Enter recipe and bill of material in the production version or if external number assignment of the recipe is required, make no entry in the recipe group.
4. Navigate to the recipe, for example, by double-clicking on the Recipe field.
5. Maintain the recipe and the material list (bill of material) within the recipe as usual.
6. Save the recipe and, therefore, also the bill of material. (Return to the production version transaction. )
7. Save the production version.
-> Change
1. Assign a change number which is valid for the recipe and the bill of material entered or to be entered to the existing production version.
2. Navigate to the recipe and further processing as described under -> Create.
After the release of the change request, all three objects production version, recipe and bill of material are approved providing a change rule which prescribes an approval procedure was defined in the recipe header.
You need a suitable change request for defining the change rule. Providing you use the integrated maintenance via the production version as recommended, proceed as described above and assign the suitable change request to the production version.
If you want to ensure furthermore that no recipes are created without change request, use a profile set correspondingly in Customizing for the creation of recipes.
Hope clear to you. For details refer the Note 154360 - Maintain prod.vrsns+recpes i.env.requirng an apprvl

Dear,
These are the steps for the basically to maintain production version, recipe C201, C202 and bill of material CS01 via "Production Version: Mass Processing" (Transaction C223).
First, create a master recipe header via the recipe maintenance (Transaction C201) without change number and change rule. Also maintain the material assignment.
After saving has been executed, the number of the recipe is known.
Then create a engineering change order for this recipe. Maintain a production version in C223 to which you assign this change number. From there go to the master recipe in order to set the change rule at the header and to maintain other data.
After saving the master recipe, you are on the production version overview again. Now also save the production version to which you have assigned the change number.
Make sure that you do not use a profile which prescribes a certain change rule.
Hope clear to you.
Regards,
R.Brahmankar
Dear Check created PV Key, lot-size range, and validity period of the production version,Information on whether the production version is locked in MM MRP4 view or C223 of the header material.

Dear Yes you can check in MM03 input relevant material code(header material) select MRP4 view click on production version tab or you can check in C223 transaction too.
Lot size relevance is your production quantity range for particular validity date.
