Dears,
customer requirement is to split the operation quantity between multiple work centers during dispatching.
e.g: the plant has 2 mixers one to process 600 kg in 1 hr while the other is to process 300 kg in 1 hr.
so, if an order with Quantity 900 kg it will be splitted between mixer1 (600 kg) & mixer 2 (300 kg).
the two mixers will have different formulas thus can't be maintained as individual capacities.
So, can we split order quantity between multiple work centers (& without formation of a child order split)
or, if I'll use individual capacity , can I incorporate a parameter that is individual capacity related in the formula for capacity & scheduling.
Request clarification before answering.
Dear Moustafa,
Create two alternate routing with the defined lot size and accordingly convert your planned order into production order of 300 kg and 600 kg in each routing.

Dear Moustafa,
I have exactly the same problem:
in midterm horizon, for planning purpose , operation qty can be assigned to only one work center , but in short term horizon ,during dispatching, for production plan optimizing reason , scheduler wants to split operation quantity in different works center with available capacity. In my business scenario work center standard processing time (and also standard costs) are different from one work center to another also for the same operation. Unfortunately I haven't found till now a solution to this question in the SCN forum.... I hope a PP guru will help us!

Hi Moustafa,
1. Keep your work center having more than one capacity category
2. Go to Capacity header mention No. of indiv. cap.=2.
3. Create header details for individual capacities from Goto -> Individual Capacities and maintain for 001, 002.
After the production order creation
4. Go to operation details, Choose "Cap. reqmt assignmt" tab select capacity 001 from list assign 600 KGs, for 002 = 300 kgs in split qty as required.
5. level this capacity using CM27, This levelling can be done by splits.

Hi Moustafa,
You need to follow the way:-
1. Create two work center. A. 600KG/Hr B 300KG/Hr.
2. Create two routing for MIX one with work center 600KG/Hr and second with work center 300KG/Hr.
3. Create two production version with different routings.
4. Maintain Quota arrangement Usage in Material master MRP 2 view.
5. Maintain Quota arrangement for this material in MEQ1.
Thanks

Hi Moustafa,
Sorry. It would not allow you to use the 2 work centers together for this operation in the same production order?
My question to you is :
How did you maintain the routings you told both Process is same for both work center?
As you told capacity is the difference in both of the work centers.
You need to go with two different production orders to use both work centers.
Thanks
Hi Reem,
Use the quota arrangement for your issue in MRP view of the material.
Use alternative routings for this.
