Data Migration

Hi All,

The issue in Data Migration is, in system already employees are there, now we want to overwrite the existing data with the new data.

The problem is when we are uploading the data it is not allowing us to change the hire date. throwing error -Don't enter a personnel action for the date of hiring/transfer.

For this we have changed the hire date to the next day. is this approach is correct or is there other way to deal with this.

Hi Sonu,

as you said this is new implementation. are u executine data migration for pa40?

if this is you can use one more action Called Data conversion. which is used to overwrite all the records, if you really want to change the hire date you can use PA41to change the hire date.

In my view

In Data Migration hire date would have the actual Hire Date and tge Data Converion would be the start date of the Organization in the SAP system.

I think you some Idea on this.

Thanks for the details given by you people, but i am using data conversion action type...

One question i want to ask do i need to use the chekc option that is MSN21 fo r reentry.

what is the significance of that.

Hai..

MSN21 will check if the emp is active/ not..

if he is not active system will perform the action, esle it will not...

Hi,

By using TAJ's suggestion we are able to sort out the date issue for hiring action, but :

The position field is grayed out in the IT0000, can it be delt with any ways, please suggest.
