Hi All,
The asset purchase posting has to be done in t.code F-90(with posting key 31 & 70). But our end users has posted in the T.code F-43(with posting key 31 & 40).. they have posted from Apr -2012 to Oct -2012
Now they want to post the posted entries from Apr -2012 to Oct-2012 in F-90 and they want to run the depreciation too.. I informed them that it is not possible, we have to reverse all the entries and we need to post it in the correct t.code.
The solution which I have given is correct..? or is there any alternate..
Note: The entries are more than 40000 for each asset.
Kindly provide me the solution…
Thanks in advance,
Anil

Hello Anil,
No need to worry please check in the asset master there would not be any asset acquisition date.So reverse all posting which earlier made make asset value zero and delete all old asset.
and create new legacy asset using T-code as91 and Asset Gross value and accumulative depreciation can be added and NBV will come automaticlly.
If asset are more you can take ABAPers help and upload asset master with value using BDC program speak to your Abaper he will guid you to upload asset through BDC program. Please do let me know if you need any more details.

Hi Irfan,
Thanks for giving the reply, My issue has been solved... kindly find the below mentioned link
Hi Anil,
T-Code : AS91 is used to upload only asset master data with its cost, accumulated depreciation & net book value. Its like creating Asset Master Data through AS01.
First you should check the Asset GL accounts on which they have posted entries directly that are these Gls have been defined as RECONCILIATION ACCOUNTS or not??
If the asset gl accounts are not defined as reconciliation then first goto T-code : OAMK and change those gl accounts into reconciliation accounts.
After this make an upload file through LSMW tool and use t-code AS91 there.
Feel free to ask any elaboration on it.

Zain Bashir

Hi Anil,
Kindly clarify ,whether asset management implemented in your company ? If yes ,how they posted direct debit to reconcilation account ( Asset Balance sheet accounts). What about after Oct 2012 entries ? Were they followed FI_AA since Nov 2012 ? If yes.
Don't do the reverse of any journals.
Create Asset with using of AS91 ( Enter Aquisation value and correct capitalization date) for each journal entry. Now Asset subledger total must be match with Main ledger balances. Do the depreciation run.

Hi Anil,
You can follow the said process ,if it is previous year assets.
Customization settings :-
1. Financial accounting new > Asset accouting > Asset data transfer > Parameters for data transfer > Date specifications > Specify transfer date / last date closed. Enter take over date as 31.03.2013.
2. Go to AS91 > Create legacy asset ,upload aquisation values & accmulated depreciation values.
3. General ledger balances up to 31.03.2013 & Asset values report must be tally ( AR03 report)
4. Go to OAMK & assign all Asset related GL account as Recon accounts.

Hi Mani & Zain,
I'm are trying to upload the asset data for the previous year in T.Code AS91 with the date specification as 31.03.2013.
Ex: Capitalized On 25.05.2012 Computer purchased.
Now I’m trying to see the asset in t.code: s_alr_87011964, its not displaying the asset upto 31.03.2013 but when I enter the date 01.04.2013, all assets are displaying.
Kindly provide me the solution for displaying all assets as on 31.03.2013
Thanks in Advance,
Anil
Dear Anil,
As per your screen shots ,reports are working fine. You posted / updated amount in 2013 not in 2012 based on your customization legacy data specified as current year date.According to your screen shots values are showing in 2013 not 2012 in AW01N.
Hope it is clear.

Hi Anil,
This SAP help can guide you.
Calendar date establishing the effective date of the legacy data transfer of fixed assets to the SAP System.
This is the date as of which the transferred assets are managed in SAP Asset Accounting.
You have to enter this date before starting the asset data transfer.
In most cases, the transfer date will be the last day of a fiscal year. All transactions starting in the new fiscal year are then carried out only in SAP Asset Accounting. The values transferred are the cumulative values at the end of the fiscal year.
The transfer date can also be during the fiscal year. When the transfer date is within the fiscal year, the values transferred are the values as they stand at the end of the last closed fiscal year before the transfer date. The transactions since the start of the current fiscal year, however, also have to be transferred. This is necessary in order to create the asset history sheet.
This field is only ready for input if the company code is not yet live.
The system uses this date to determine the last closed fiscal year.
Regards
Mani
