Synchronizing external database from R/3

Is it possible to synchronize a database that sits on a laptop for a diconnected application with data from R/3, possibly both SAP deleloped tables and our Z tables. We need to be able to do this to 200 laptops each one using the same table but possibly different selection criteria. Is this possible or do we need to stage the data in an external database first??

Darrin,

Do you mean that each laptop is having different databse records and that need to be syncronized using SAP R/3 may be using tables.

Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Amey,

You are correct, each laptop could have different data that would need to get sychronized to SAP R/3. This could be possibly sales/delivery data used in a disconnected application, where SAP R/3 would be the "central database". Does SAP have a way to handle this, or is there a vendor with a product that does this??
