RFC and data check ?

I have an RFC that called from SAP XI . During the testing i find one of table in which data is NOT coming into RFC.

But as per SAP XI experts in the SAP XI side told me that their maping are okay.

So clearing doubt this i need to check whether the data is coming into SAP or not.

Possible options are :-->

1. in the First line of RFC write all tables coming in to a spool

2. In the first line of RFC send all tables coming in to email account

3. In the first line of RFC write all tables in to Memory ID

other than these we have any options to validate the data coming in or not

PS please DO NOT suggest go for debug.

I would suggest using FBGENMAC. This is a macro provided by SAP which creates a test data directory of the data comming in. all you have to do is add two lines of code to the RFC and do the required config.

the only caution are left check the source table is filled or not?from data is coming into RFC.

I don't get you fully on your reply. my requirement is to check the data coming into RFC incoming tables or not.

Can you please explain little details on this.

Amit asking you to check the source tables ,he is thinking that may be those tables are empty, so thats the reason data is not coming During RFC call.

I have used this in an custom RFC too.

i missed out one more note which has better instructions: oss note 539978

Here is what you do.

I am on ECC 6.0. Please check if all the below objects are in your release too.

In your custom RFC add these two lines:

include FBGENMAC.

fbgenmac 'Z_RFC_NAME'. " where Z_rfc_name is your rfc name.

then for the RFC user add a user parameter FBGENMAC = X.

after doing the above steps:

when you are ready to capture the data sent by the rfc, run report FBGENDAT and activate the test data generation for your custom RFC. you can deactivate it after the call is made.

then you can go and check the test data directory to find the data sent by the rfc.

yep i got your Q?. You have all valid checks. May be if you can update the data to a table will that sounds good , with timestamp

I donot know how Xi is calling ur FM but if possible then try to run ur FM in SAP itself with data that Xi actually sends from its end.

Other options can be:

1. you can write all table contents to file in application server

2. if u have already identified the table which is not populating then u can directly search the table from SE16 with the values used in the where clause...
