Modifying transported Code

Hi everyone!

I have the following problem: we just created a second development instance and configured it with our namespace and development license. Developing new programs/components on there in our namespace is no problem.

We then transported a project of ours to the new instance via SE10 and STMS. Now when we try to change components on our new system that were transported from the old one, we can only do it as a repair with insert/replace/delete functions

So my questions is, is there any way to modify transported code freely?

If anyone has a solution for this, it would be greatly appreciated.

(online help) Look in Software Logistics for Change and Transport System , Change and Transport System ( Overview (BC-CTS), Transactions and Tools in the CTS, Transport Organizer, Functions in the Transport OrganizerTransports of Copies and Relocations for "relocation".

Hint: You could also change yourself the entry in object directory to change original system (SE03).

IMHO "switch off the medication assistant" is a bad idea, some "sweeping things under the rug".

Hi Martin,

For any customer system first open the code in the modification assistant. System does not allow to change the code directly.

You have go to edit->Modification->Switchoffassistant.

Thanks

Hi Nishant,

thank you for your help.

However, this would have to be done for every component, method, etc., right? Is there no way to do this globally?

After all, this second system of ours is a development system too, not a customer system.

Thank you,

Martin

Hi MD,

As I know, Its not possible to swtichoffassistant globally.

If the old version modified differs from the new original, you must enter your modifications manually. To do this, use version management. Although the Modification Assistant does not support the adoption of the modifications, it controls the editing process.

Hello Martin,

Your current SAP Instance will treat transported code as another system's original code, hence when you are trying to edit current SAP instance are showing those repair instances.

As suggested by others we can't do anything to disable the repair the moment to try to edit!!!

Best way to do is to switch off the medication assistant.

Thanks & Regards,
