Function Module for Report Painter

Dear Friends,

I have come accross to an issue that I need to change / add characteristic values of one of the reports developed in Report Painter through my external program. For this purpose I have already copied the program into my Z-name space and now I would like to pass some characterstic values ( like..GL account and cost center ) mainained in an external Z-table to some* interal report painter standard function / method to ge the value of basic key figure for some caluculation and pass the results back to report painter routine to publish the results.

I tried my best to clear my point. Kindly help me in this regard...
