Hi Sap gurus,
can anyone tell me please, how to assign two data domains for a data element.
for eg: zabc and zcde are domains which contains character.
now i want to assign these domains into zalphabet data elements.
if i do this, it throws an error like no active domain zabc and zcde avaiable.
but i activated these domains too..
Please help..

Hi RamyaKR,
1. You can assign only one Domain to one Data Element. You can not assign multiple domains to one data element.
2. go to SE11
Domain zabc / zcde
Save it. then
Activate it (Press Ctrl + F3) one by one
Activate both first.. then use one of the domain in Data Element zalphabet.
Hope it will solve your problem..

Hi,
if you are assign multiple domains into a data element, it will throw an error.
you cannot do assign a multiple domains into a data element.

i think u cannot assing 2 domains to 1 data element,1 domain can be assigned to 2 or more data elements indeed.

Technically It is not possible to assign two domain to a data element, nither logically as well.
Domain describes the technical attribute of a field.
How ever.. different technical fields of the same type can be combined in a domain. Fields referring the same domain are changed at the same time when a domain is changed. This ensures consistency of these fields.

Dear Ramya,
It is not possible to assign more than one Domains to same Data Element.
No any version of SAP has such a provision till date.

Hi
Several data elements can have the same domain, but a particular data element can have only one domain. The two-level domain concept helps in centralized management of data elements.

Hello Ram,
You please explain in details your exact requirement, why you want to assign two domain in one single data element.
actually this is not possible and this situation never came into picture.
If you explain requirement of creating two domain then we can help you to find out other solution and logic.
