basic type and message type

may i know what is the difference between basic type and message type in WE05.

Hi,

Message type->It means message u want to distibute to ur partner..For example Material master(MATMAS) ....(WE81).

Basic type->It is collection segments which in turn collection of fileds...This holds the data part of the idoc.(WE30)

Hi,

This is similar as Subject of a mail and content of the mail..

Without seeing the contect if the give appropriate subject we will know what was the mail regarding.

the same thing applies to IDOC also.

hi,

Basic type is nothing but basic idoc type which we define in we30 transaction

and mesage type is used to identify unique data related to an object which we can

create in we81 transaction.

Go to transaction WE05 ..click on basic type and message type.press F1 help.you will come to know the difference.
