BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN - Release with Create

Hi,

I am using the BAPI 'BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN' to create Maintenance orders. The BAPI is called from an IDoc processing function module. The IDoc type and inbound function module are generated from the BAPI. I can create the Order using the IDoc. My objective is to Release the order at the same time as create. If I pass the RELEASE method with CREATE, the BAPI is returing an error message. Is there a way to achieve this?

Hi,

there are some limitations for this BAPI. Have you checked BAPI documentation? Check also documentation for table IT_METHODS. There are also some OSS notes related to this BAPI and operation RELEASE (check for example notes 643574 and 1064804).

I am new to SAP . i want to create workrder by using bapi (BAPI ALM ORDERMAINTAIN) .not using the transcation code. using bapi i want to create workorder.

I don't no exactly what are the required fields we have to fill in that bapi .can u plz tell me what r the fields we have to fill.How it will work.

what we have to relese for this BAPI.
