I am Trying to archive FI_documnt, the customisation part has been done, when i am running the write jobs , the Submit and write jobs are running properly but in write jobs it is creating a session , but the archive file is not created

below is the log for the write jobs

check whether it is in test mode or production.

if it is test mode then archive file will not be created..

Hi Sanjay,

What did you put in for your selection criteria? Check that information as the joblog shows that 0 records were read. That indicates it did not find any data that matched what was in the variant. Then, you could use the TAANA transaction to see if there are any records that match your selection criteria.

Hi Sanjay,

As Karin said, its not able to pick up any documents which match your selection criteria. thats the reason for log "Total of documents read/archived: 0/0". So when its not finding any data to archive, it doesnt create any archive file.

Check your selction criteria and hope you have maintained proper account and document life in application specific customizing?

The Variant i have selected is proper,

it fulfil my select conditions, this is not only for this archiving object but for all other archiving object, it is creating a session but, not creating the archive file

the details what i have maintained in my variant, there exist a record for that variant in bkpf table, for error and trial basis i have taken only a single record in the variant

also naveen i m not sure about the customisation of account and document life can u please help me out in this

Hi Sanjay,

See this link and navigate to Archiving FI Documents -> Archiving-Object-Specific Customizing -> Document Life in Financial Accounting.

You have to properly maintain the account and document life, else it will take the residence time as 9999 days.

Hi,

It probably is the customizing settings that Naveen mentioned before. Within SARA for FI_DOCUMNT, go to Customizing -> Application-specific Customizing and configure/maintain the account type life (set the residence time for account types) and then configure/maintain the document type life (set the residence time by company code and document type).

You should also be able to tell why the documents did not archive by the spool file that was generated. Check out the "Statistics" section in the spoolfile. This will tell the reason why it was not archived. For example, it had open items, the account type life was not met, ect.

Hi Karin/Naveen,

I have changed the settings in account type and documnet type life, which i have maintained as 1, for testing purpose

but still it is not creating the archive file, and unless and until the archive file is created it will not show the any details in statistics, this is what i guess, my statistics display is without any data, when i click on display statistics,

also, i have selected logical file name ARCHIVE_DATA_FILE_WITH_ARCHIVE_LINK

logical path as ARCHIVE_GLOBAL_PATH_WITH_ARCHIVE_LINK

and physical path as <F=ARCHIVELINK><FILENAME>

is there any thing that i am missing out

or is it possible for u to give me ur mail id, i can send u the screen shots for the customisation

The problem has been solved, and it was a very good help regarding the account life and document life, which i didn't maintained properly

again there is one more problem, for which i m poisting a new thread for document archiving
