I also tried the following :

1. click Start Menu -> Run

2. Type sapgui < hostname> <system number>

3. click ok now

I got the following message dispalyed

Dear All ,

I have also tried making all the permutations and combinations with the services file. But still getting the same error.

Now i tried to reinstall SAP GUI several times but the same logon error occurs.

I think that there is some registry entry in the windows that is causing the problem.

So ultimately the problem may be with OS and reimaging is the last option.

Can anyone suggest me any other approach to this issue.

1. check your PC for virus

2. have you installed Messenger? an old version was tweaking the services file location

3. add the entry AS THE FIRST line of your file and try again.

Hi

Useful discussions will add more mileage if it is posted and responnded in proper Forums..

First of all this message should be posted in SAPGUI - dedicated for GUI problems..

Reading a message with UNIX and viruses and registries , Start --> Run ... oops. quite confusing.. can we please follow the posting guidelines???...

Cheers
