Determining SAPGUI version on all terminals

Good day

We are faced with a bit of a problem in that we arent sure what GUI releases and patch levels are installed on all clients at all the sites. Is there any method, official or not (but preferably the former) that his can be determined in an automated manner. That is, without a desktop support person actually performing the manual task?

Thanks and regards

Hello Ray,

you might want to look into

Note 748424 - Evaluation of SAP GUI versions and patches

or

http://scn.sap.com/thread/2065888

If you do a search in this community and expand the scope the search to older content as well, you will find even more threads about this.

Best regards

Won't give you patch level, but will at least provide major release levels.

In tx SM04 try the following:

Hi Ray,

you might want to see KBA 1784740 - How to determine the SAP GUI version and patch level on the client. This can be done using Method GET_GUI_VERSION of Class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES
