How to check work process trace ?

I had raised an incident to SAP where in the issue was that an 'express document failed' error was popping up in transaction MM01 and MM02 (because of the FM MATERIAL_UPDATE_DB, as checked in SM13). The materials were created but were not saving.

So, SAP replied that they checked work process trace and found that the error was with the connection to LCADB (in Tcode DBCO ). So they suggested to verify the password and maintain the password again.

We maintained the password for LCADB and the issue was resolved. Below was their reply (in bold) :

This error indicated the credential of database connection LCA is maintained

The connection information as below :

So could you please verify the password of user LCADB is maintained correctly in the T-code DBCO?

You may need to reset the password and refresh the connection again.

So, basically how did they check this work process trace?

Hi Apurva ,

Enable below steps and replicate error scenario and check current trace and do not forget reset trace once your job is done.

1. Execute SAP transaction SM51 , select the required server(s)
2. Now press F5 to select all WP and go to Process > Trace > Active Components.
3. Change the trace level to 2 and deselect all the components except Security
4. Save the changes and your trace level is increased now.
