Visual Composer Roadmap

Hi,

What is roadmap for Visual Composer?

Is it true that SAP is not planning to provide any new enhancements in Visual Composer and technology will be obsolete in the future same as WD Java which was replaced by WD ABAP?

If this is the case, what would be alternative technology for designing graphs, charts, statistics rapidly?

We need to design simple statistics (graphs, pie charts) based on data in ECC. Would it be advisable to use VC for this purpose?

To get an official answer you should ask your SAP contact.

When the official channels do not help you, you can search SCN and you'll find that some weeks ago the guys from SAP Israel posted a video showing Visual Composer producing HTML5 output. In regards to obsolete: support is still available for many years, the problem is flash, but you can use WD for runtime and when you want to display "simple" forums / data / graphics you really should give VC a serious try.

Hi all,

as Tobias already mentioned VC is still supported. We have also seen in the past some enhancements to VC so it is senseless to have this discussions due to the fact that you still have maintenance until 2018 (more than six years).
