User authentication failed error

Hi Experts!! We create and maintain user IDs in Active Directory to access development and quality portal. User IDs are mapped with backend user IDs. I created user in Active directory and mapped with backend system. User is able to log in to development portal but authentication is getting failed when user trying to login to quality portal. Please provide your inputs on it. Why user is able to log in dev portal but not in quality portal? Thanks ..

Hi Somya/Raja,

Yes configurations and validity both are fine. When I checked for user in Quality portal, I found that two same user IDs, one with data source as LDAP and other as UME. It might be because User ID was created in UME first and then later on when we got request to create user in AD, User ID was created in AD and hence, in portal I could see 2 user IDs. When deleted one user ID with UME data source.. I successfully logged in. Please confirm that why Authentication was getting failed?

1) because the two user IDs has different password maintained or

2) there were 2 user IDs?

Hi Richa,

Nice to hear your issue got resolved.

It is because two user Id's having different passwords.

Maybe you can try to assign same password and try to confirm it.

Hi Richa/Raja,

Even we have faced this issue of duplicate ids quite a few times.

Authentication fails as there are two ids and portal is unable to recognize the correct one..

I am not sure on the password part..as we were not able to get the password of LDAP id to confirm/match with UME password and try.
