Upgrade DB2 on Java

Hello,

On your lanscape, BO 4.2 is installed on a Netweaver 7.3 base (database DB2 version for this BO system is 9.71). Unlike the ABAP (BW) stack, the Java version does not seem to support DB2 version 11.5 ?

Can you confirm this non-compatibility, if so, is it necessary to upgrade SAP...?

regards,

Julian

Hello Julian,

Yes you are correct, to run DB2 Version 11.5 you will need to upgrade to a Netweaver 7.5 base.

Thanks,

David

Many thanks.

For our EHP6 systems, we need to upgrade DB2 v10.1 to DB2 v11.5, do you know if we need to upgrade EHP6 to EHP8 for compatibility issues or EHP6 is compatible with DB2 v11.5 ?

regards,

Julian

Hi,

as far as I know BO 4.2 is a Business Objects Product which is not directly coupled to an SAP ABAP or Java stack and not covered by the Netweaver PAM. I do not know much about BO since this product is not maintained or tested by our team.

Therefore, I do not understand the reference to Netweaver 7.3.
The Netweaver 7.3 Java Stack is out of service since 2020. Therefore, new DB2 releases like V11.5 have not been released/tested on this stack. The only SAP Java stack version which is supported with V11.5 is 7.5.

Plese see note 1648480 for more information about SAP Java stack versions.
Regards

Frank
