Hello everybody,

I have a problem and I would like to know if you can help me

I have made a query about an ADSO in BW, I have made an Import connection to SAC creating a model reading from said query, we make modifications in the BW query and when we update the model those fields that have been added to the query do not let us include them in the model as dimensions but as filters.

Attached capture of the error that shows the image:

Is there any way to do this?

Thank you.

Hello iduquesa20,

If you are modifying the underneath BW query (adding new characteristics) and planning to add them to the SAC model followed by refresh them from BW, you should follow below sequence of changes

  1. Modify/ remodel SAC model - Video : Rebuild models: SAP Analytics Cloud. There are some limitations on when you are not allowed to rebuild your existing model - a) Currency conversion is enabled in the model. b) The model contains any global dimensions. c) The model contains private data versions.
  2. Create a new import query Model > Data Management > Draft Source > Datasource
Here is an example video similar to what you require : Video : Import data into planning or analytic models

Note: An existing import query in SAC do not allow enhancement in-terms of adding new fields from source BW query. This limitation is in place since inception. Recommendation is to create a new import query for changes.

If you find above information helpful, don't forget to accept (accept button at the bottom) and vote (voting arrows on the left side).

Thanks,

Vijayeta

Hello bosingh,

With new model update, one can edit and add new field in existing query in SAC. You didn't shared any error message, steps you followed to fix this or the step that resulted into undesirable outcome. If you are new to this, then there could be N different things that can go wrong.

I am afraid you didn't shared much details to work with here.

Please be informed if you are adding a new field in the SAC model, you need to rebuild the model first. Then create a new query under Data Management tab. I your SAC tenant received QRC 2 update, then you can edit existing query as well. This is one of the new enhancement that makes the whole process of remodeling much more flexible.

Note: I am assuming the query is not deleted from BW system and later on recreated with same technical name. Because if we recreate (post deletion) a BW query with same technical name, system generate a new GUID.

Beside if you are facing similar issue as iduquesa20, I suggest opening a new Q&A thread. Unless you are operating under different ID's.

Thanks,

Vijayeta
