Understanding Planning Buffer

Hi, Could someone explain a little detail about the planning buffer? How long is it available? When I change something and update the buffer, but come back later or review other reports I don't see any of the buffer changes. It's like the buffer works only for the current screen or application I'm in... Am I doing something wrong?

example: I have a Planning Query and a reqular query as 2 separate Portal selections in the navigation sections. I'd like to have the user make changes in the planning query and then review the changes in the next report without having saved the changes to database.

I did see the documentation and of course it's brief and terse...

Hi Kenneth,

Thats the problem with plan buffer. It wil be there for the current session only. We need to save the data before gettting out, to populate the recent data in other reports..

However, please note that the yellow request that apprear in the request monitor comes only after we save the data in the cube through planning modeller or plan query. It will not come, if we change the data in the buffer alone !!
