Hi all,

Want to clarify one thing...

If we want to delete the data of a transport request in SAP, which way is clearer? Either deleting from SE01 or we have to delete it from usr/sap/trans/cofiles&datafiles ?

If we do so in both ways, full data related to that transport request will delete from our database for ever?

Awaiting your replies

Regards

Praveen,

Please refer best practice as suggested by SAP in the following SAP notes:-

41732 - Deletion of data in transport directory

7224 - Deleting old corrections and transport requests

Hi Anand,

Yes we can delete, but my question is if we deletes the data from OS level, whole data regarding that TP will be gone, right? No data related to that will be in system thereafter. right?

Praveen,

Usually changes done to objects are copied in a transport request.

If you intend to move those changes to other systems then the transports requests comes in picture.

The changes are reflected in the original system.

The changed objects will still remain in the source system but not in a transport, which ever way you chose to delete.

Anand,

Ok, If i want to delete the previous transport requests ,say 5-8 years old, then for each #tp deletion i have to go in OS respectively. That is a time consuming process. I want to delete the #TP from the SAP screen itself so that the full data related to that #TP has to be deleted.

Any way to do this ??
