Hi,

The Task Property 'Task Complete' actually refers whether the task definition is correctly maintained with respect to 'completion' criteria. For example, in general for Tasks with Synchronous Method's, task will get complete as soon as the method execution is completed, but however in case of Asynchornous Methods, if you do not mention any terminating event it means task completion criteria is not complete and 'Task Complete' will not be set in your workflow definition.

The property 'Confirm End of Processing' is basically says that user has to explicit confirm the processing of task is completed only then workitem will be considered as completed in runtime. We mantain this in Task definition and it can be used irrespective whether it is Synch or Asynch. Look into help.sap.com, you can find more information on these !!

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I did some tests and i come to the same conclusion. But in the case of a task with asynchronous method if i do not mention any terminating event it's an error modeling ? I must do some tests but it seems to me that the system does not allow that.

Why on earth did you award points to the rubbish answer from JMB? Fine, an effort was made. But the answer was incorrect and misleading with respect to what you asked. I am sure JMB does not expect any points in this case, when the question was misunderstood. Do not misuse the points system like this, it only encourages all the point hunters to provide any answer in the hope of getting some points.

For you who has gained points ? And how many for each person ?

A lot of people, including you. The point system was created so helpful answers could be rewarded. I assume it was not the intention that incorrect, misleading or otherwise not helpful answers should be rewarded, no matter how sincere an effort was made.

Unfortunately, since some people and companies like to use their SDN rating as an asset the point system has attracted a lot of point hunters who will answer a lot of question and ask for or even demand points. We have them in this forum as well. I do not suspect JMB is a point hunter, which is why I wrote he/she would not expect points for an incorrect answer. Anyone who is more interested in helping people than in counting points will not really want points for an answer that was of no help to the person asking the question.

The topic has been debated heavily in more suitable forums, and one unwanted consequence of the point system is that SDN is flooded with basic questions, and flooded with duplicate answers etc. This in turn has lead and leads to a number of experienced people favouring other forums or mailing lists where there is a higher signal/noise (interesting content/non-interesting content) ratio.

That said, my reaction was too strong, I see that now. You are probably not aware of the extent of this problem, having been an SDN member only for a few months. My advice still stands though, use the point system to reward helpful replies, not good efforts.
