Sybase administration GUI

Hi guys,

recently ive installed a new ERP 6.0 landscape with Sybase ASE and in both instances i was able to manage the database using the scjview executable, usually located under X:\sybase\SID\Shared\Sybase Central 6.0.0\win64 path.
Now if i try to install the latest Sybase version the executable seems missing, even if the path still exist.

Probably is a SAP choice, i dont understand the meaning (and worse i dont find any note/documentation regarding this change) but im just wondering which is the grapich tool i have to use to manage the database.
I tried to download Sybase Control Center (3.2.5) but im stucked after a few steps (not able to connect the database using sa/sapsa user).
Am i using the correct tool? Is there any other way? Administration is command line only?

I understand that you want a tool you are used to, to manage installed instances and operate the RDBMS. I guess you are familiar with Sybase Central already and hardly want to miss any of it's powerfull features.

For a typical up to date SAP installation EBF for the ASE v15 plugin would be EBF21169 for Windows and EBF21167 for Linux (64-Bit)

This can be setup staright away on the server running the RDBMS. If you need to put it on a central management host, make sure to install a limited developer version (free developer edition from SCN with no licensing issues) on that host before you try to install the Sybase Central plugin.

Changes to Sybase Central

Sybase Central ASE plug-in is no longer included in the Adaptive Server installation image. Use Sybase Control Center 3.2.7 to manage your Adaptive 15.7 ESD#2 servers.
Sybase no longer maintains Sybase Central. However, if required, you can download Sybase Central Plug-ins by going to the http://www.sybase.com/downloads site, then clicking on Maintenance Releases and Bug Fixes (EFBs).

Good luck in finding the download, while it might have vanished meanwhile to "motivate" SAP Basis guys to use dbacokpit or SCC !

I personally hate both for certain limitations and a highly complicated install and setup procedure compared to Sybase Central...
