Hello there,
In order to start a session with SAP, it is said to have an installation of Sol Man with SP20-SP22.
I'm a bit confused about the support package (or stack).
When I looked into System > Status > Shift + F5, I can see that we are on Supp. Pckg Level 15.
But I've got this :
SAP_BASIS SAPKB70102
SAP_ABA SAPKA70102
SAP_BW SAPKW70102
SAP_AP SAPKNA7012
... and so on
I think it corresponds to SPS18. Am I right ?
So regarding the prerequisits, what should I upgrade ?
Thanks for your answer

Hi Kennes,
Please note that when you go to System -> Status -> Shift+F5, the field "Sup.Pkg lvl." shows you information about the kernel SP level. This is by no means the same as SP level of your system.
In order to know the support package level, go to System -> Status -> then click on [Other Component Information] button under the heading SAP System Data. Here, you will find the SP level for each component.
This explains the difference between the two SP levels that you were referring to.
Further, SAP_BASIS SAPKB70102 means that your software component SAP_BASIS is of release 701 and support pack level 02.
Support pack level for a component is again different from support pack stack level. As SP stack is basically a collection of all the support pack (levels) that are shipped by SAP together. For example, SP stack 2 will include many components other than SAP_BASIS like SAP_ABA, SAP_BW, SAP_AP, etc. at their individual support pack levels of 2 and sometimes even more for some components.
You can go to service.sap.com/sp-stacks and if you click on SP Stack Information link on the left side pane, you can then click on the link "SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0" to see details of the stack that you are currently having on your system.
Hope this resolves your doubts regarding SP levels and SP stack levels.
Thanks,
Shitij

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I now better understand about SP and Kernel.
I did make a search about how to find the SP stack level through the marketplace, that's how I figure out that our system is on SPS18.
So if I do understand the prerequisits (Installation of SAP Solution Manager with SP20-SP22 including Initial and Basic Configuration), it means that I have to upgrade from SPS18 to SPS22 ?
Thank you

Hi Kennes,
If the guide says that you need a minimum of SP20, then Yes, you need to update the patches from SP18 to SP20. If you want SP22, go for SP22.
The point is that SP20 onwards, this will start working. You decide to which SP level you want to update.
Better to update to the latest available patch level, which is SP22.
I have checked service.sap.com/sp-stacks. You will need to download all missing SP stacks between your source stack level (SP18) and the target level (example SP20 or SP22).
Shitij.
