Hello Team,

we are upgrading our OS version from SLES12 to SLE15 SP3.

So could you please suggest if our current HANA Database and S4 HANA Application will support or not.

Current HANA Database version - hana2sp04 - 2.00.046.00.1581325702
S4 HANA version - S4 HANA 1709 SP 02
Front end - SAP Fiori for S4 HANA 1709 & SAP FIORI FRONT END SERVER 4.0

I have verified in PAM I could see the compatibility with HANA Database & OS version however I don't see the compatibility whether the S4 HANA supports the SLES15 SP3 or not.

Please suggest ASAP.

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2235581:

  • SLES for SAP Applications 15 / SLES 15 - consult SAP Note 2684254 for recommended OS settings
    • 15 SP3 (HANA 2.0 SPS05 revision 55 and newer)

That means, if you want to use SLES 15 SP3 you have to use minimum HANA 2.0 SPS05 with revision 55 and newer.

More in details it means:

- for SLES 15 SP3, you need minimum HANA 2.0 SPS05 revision 55 and newer.
- for SLES 15 SP2, you need minimum HANA 2.0 SPS04 revision 48.01 and newer.
- for SLES 15 SP1, you need minimum HANA 2.0 SPS04 revision 44 and newer.
- for SLES 15 (GA), you need minimum HANA 2.0 SPS03 revision 34 and newer, but up to HANA 2.0 SPS05.

Regarding the other two question:

S/4HANA 1709 is still in maintenance and is generally released for SLES 15, see also PAM:
https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/pam?hash=s%3DSAP%2520S%252F4HANA%25201709%26o%3Dmost_viewed...

For the non-HANA part, i.e. for S/4HANA server, only a general release of SLES 15 is required; there is no distinction between SLES service packs. Each service pack can also be used for SAP as soon as it is available from SUSE. Only the HANA database releases service packs individually.
