Source system restore - Source system does not exist

Hello friends,

We have a problem. Now we have a new test system QA2. From BW system source system connection was configured for older test source system QA1.

We needed to route this source system to new system. I tried with changing RFC of QA1 to QA2 details.

Now, when i check RSA1 source system Check for QA1, i get this error :

Port 'A000000103 ' of type 'ALE ' does not exist

No destination exists to source system QA1

I can see this source system in RSA1 in BW. However, in WE21 port is not available now.

Please suggest.

I do not have to lose transfer rules/PSA tables..etc.

thanks

Hi,

You have to create new source system for this. Its not possible to change source system by just changing RFC and restoring.

Thanks

Hello Sunny,

Dont be habe any option like logical name conversion or something like that.. what if i change QA2 to QA1 in RSBASIDOC as i have entry in it.

In this case what should be done for customizing done for older system..like transfer rules/PSA tables.

thanks

You cannot change source system name in RSA1 by running BDLS. This is to change logical name of the client.

Hi,

You have to run the BDLS conversion first and then setup the ports in we20 & 21. Also you have to update the port details & destinations in your other source systems.

Vamshi.

Hi,

If you take this approach, you might get problems in Infocube settings.
