I am wondering if anybody out there has experience with, or knows of any best practice literature that might exist on the subject of utilizing Data Services to provide a "Single Customer View" solution (see http://www.sun.com/software/whitepapers/soa/soa_single_customer.pdf for a white paper on the subject that pitches Suns product)?
I have multiple sets of customer data to integrate and match. One contains names\address\phone information, one contains just name and email, and another with name and address.
Retention of historical changes over time is also important.
I am aware of the transforms that I would likely need to utilize (i.e. Data_Cleanse, Address_Cleanse, Match, etc.) but I am looking for something (or someone) that might provide "best practice" insight into the problem one step back - such as how would the different parts work together and what might the overall workflow look like?
Any insight that can be provided would be much appreciated. Trying to not COMPLETELY re-invent the wheel, if possible.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Michael,
in the SDN you can find on the [Data Services page|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/ds] on the bottom right side a link to the Data Quality Blue Prints. Some predefined Job that can be imported (as *.atl) into your Data Services installation. They are not showing a complete CDI or Single Customer View implementation, but are good starting points for creating your own solution.
The SDN Wiki offers also some content on the Data Quality transform: [Data Quality Chapters|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Data+Quality]
You can also find some recordings of [Information Management Best Practices|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/InformationManagementBest+Practices] on the SDN Wiki as well.

Niels,
Thanks for the info. This is exactly what I was looking for. In fact, there is a Single Customer View demo available at:
