Hi,

We are planning to move our servers from 2003 to 2008/2012 in cloud.

Can you please guide me what are best solution?

1. Using SWPM export and import into cloud.
2. Just offline and restore is enough.

What is the difference between 2008/2012.

Kindly let me know your inputs.

Our environment:
Windows 2003, 11g3, Netweave 7.01 ehp 4

Best Regards
Satya

This is simply a homogenous system copy, you can use a backup/restore method.

Please check PAM for supported OS

Hello Satya,

have you checked the PAM (Product Availability Matrix) if your SAP version is supported on 2012 ? You should search your product and check this first.

Hi Siddhesh,

Yes, I checked and it will support.

During server migration can I change kernel version from 721 to 721 ext?

How maintain same support pack level during migration? means now my Basis support package is 111 can I go for same in target as well.

Kindly clarify.

Best Regards

Hello Satya,

You can upgrade the kernel to an extended one, your support packages will remain same. As Juan mentioned earlier, this is a simple homogeneous system copy, check http://service.sap.com/guidefinder to locate the appropriate system copy guide for your SAP version and operating system and read the document in detail.
