I'm doing a sizing for hardware rated at 231580 SAPS. This is for a duel processor with 8 cores per CPU. Dividing 231580/16 I get 14473 SAPS per core; seeing as how the usual rating is around 2000 SAPS per core, is this number (14473) reasonable, or am missing something?

In general 2000 SAPS refers a Core, 256 MB memory equivalent to 100 SAPS and 1000 MB of disk space is equivalent to 100 SAPS. Your sizing process has to go something from SAPS to CPU cores conversion, not viceversa.
