Whenever I open an SAP Analysis excel file, I get (sometimes with a little delay) this error message:
"Could not start (or attach to) Excel Application"
( |ERROR|addins.launcher|Com.Sap.Cof.Launcher.Launcher.Main|1|Could not start (or attach to) Excel Application )
If I open my file directly via Excel, despite the error popup the file displays and I can work on it.
However, if I save a .sapaox Launchfile for it from a web portal and then open it that way, I still get the error as usual but the file appears to be empty

We were able to resolve this issue -
AFO (or AFX) is related to your MS Office version. If you have installed EPM Add-in and you can open Analysis for Office on your desktop and still getting this error, then your MS Office version is not compatible.
This is what we found till now -
MS Office Version 2303 - NOT Compatible with AFO (32 - bit)
MS Office Version 2302 (16.0.16130.20374) - Compatible with AFO (32 - bit)
Also, open your excel and go to File -> Options -> Add-ins and make sure Analysis and Analysis ToolPak are active.
If they are not, click on Go next to Manage Excel Add-ins, tick all the options and say OK. Follow the same for COM add-in and it will open 'Analysis' tab next to Help in your excel.

Try to uninstall and reinstall Analysis. Then maybe Office.
