Role Based Dashboard

Hi,

Is Role based dashboard possible.

Suppose a supply chain dashboard is made and CFA1 logs in ,then he/she should see only the data coming under his region.

CFA2 logs on into same dashboard and he/she should see only data coming under his region.

So its like we are restricting components in dashboard?

Is this possible?

Or I should make seoerate dashboard for CFA1 and CFA 2.

Hi,

I think this could be achieved by implementing row level security on Universe and create Query as a Web Service on this Universe and use this Web Service to create Xcelsius.

Hi Ramu,

But we are using SAP BO. i.e our data source is BW.

Universe is created on top of Bex query so its OLAP universe

so I think there is no row level security

and we are going to use LO

so is there any other alternative

Hi,

if you are using Bex Queries then the Autherizations on the Bex Query for the user will be respected by Designer and henceforth.

Just make sure while creating a connection to use the "use single sign on wile refreshing report at view time" option

You need Authorization variables set up on BEx query level before designing Universe.

and SSO enabled.(If it is possible)

So At universe level instead of using user specified username and password

should i use use SSO when refreshing reports at view time

Yes Gaurav, with that the user will only see for what he is autherized.

So what else need to be done.

We are having single dashbaord and suppose FO user logs in he should see only his range of data in dashboard.

One point i got is at universe level i select use SSO when refreshing reports at view time,

so how this work,

Because universe is created on bex query and we have created queries based on kpi and no role or restriction is applied.
