We are facing issue to open a webi document on destination after we promote it.
Is it possible to promote document from BI 4.2 SP8 to BI 4.2 SP7 environment ?

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to promote, but not supported or recommended. Content promotion should always be done from lower to higher version.
You will have to design the same report in SP7.
