When installing CR for Visual Studio SP40, I get the following error message.
Version
CR for Visual Studio SP40 64b installer (VS 2022 and above)
Request clarification before answering.
Hi, thanks for the reply.
It is a new laptop with Windows 11 and Visual Studio Professional 2026, probably some MSI package in Windows is corrupted. I got the file CrystalReportsForVisualStudio64.msi from the package folder in %temp% and I was able to install it without problems.

Hello,
Seems to be an installer translation problem, as I got the same message in french (seems to be Spanish here) during installation.
Choosing English during installation solved the problem for me.

This is a data retrieval error rather than a Crystal runtime installation failure. The error tells you the table in your SQL statement could not be loaded. The error was not generated by the Crystal runtime -- it was generated by your DBMS and simply reported back to you via the Crystal runtime.
Investigate what that error means in the context of your DBMS. If this is SQL Server, then one of the common causes of error 2229 is "Corrupted Installation Package" but that refers to the SQL Server installation package -- not the SAP installation package.

I just installed it and it works for me for both VS 2022 and VS 2026
Be sure to close all open VS projects and any other program you may have open.
Then right click on the EXE and Select Run as Administrator.
You may want to uninstall the previous version first.
Note: CR for VS does not support Express versions of VS, Microsoft does not support plug-ins for Express versions.
Go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\logging
You should see a log file, see if it caught any errors.
