Hello,
I have newly joined a project and ave a requirement where customer wants to display a report on Org Unit which displays the hierarchy.
I checked teh Hierarchy maintainence and extraction. On Infoobject Maintain Hierarchy is defined and 0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER extractor(Bw3.5 version) is used though we are in BI7.0.I could see the datasource vesion shows as Modified. But the infopack runs everyday.Th monitor shows everyday 5 records are extracted. But I could not see any hierarchy structure maintained. When I click on Hierarchies All I could see is root node ,no nodes are maintained.
I am new to hierarchies, I know to create hierachies using flat file,But no idea on Hierarchies from ECC.Please help on how to setup the org unit structure in BW.

Haritha

Hi Haritha,
Have you managed to resolve this? If Yes, could you please share what has been done as I have the same Issue.

Note that 0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER uses evaluation path ORGEH, check with the R3 guys what the evaluation path is, maybe they went for a non standard one.
In that case you'll have to create a custom flow or try (as I'm doing for a requirement to extract hierarchies with a different evaluation path) datasource 0DF_IS_DFS_24 which is for defence forces but actually extracts orgunit hierarchies witht the ability to define yourself the evaluation path (see note 871802).
It's not very much orthodox but I think it's the only way to extract hierarchies with an evaluation path different from ORGEH without coding (and customers should not be left on their own on this as it's a pretty normal requirement ...).

Hi Haritha,
Check whether the hierarchies are displayed for the corresponding data source in ERP ssystem.
You can check the hierarchies from tcode SE38--> program name "RSA1HCAT"--> enter language and your data source "0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER" and execute the program . here youcan see hierachy as tree and check whether you have any parent/child nodes present or not.
If data is present against that data source then check in BW system whether the preocess chain has save hierarchy step or not. If you dont have this step then the hierarchies are not saved.
You can add it by following stepos mentioned in below link.

Hi,
at ECC side To maintain org unit hier str , T - Code - PPOSE. You can directly check with source functional team. Whether they maintained org unit hier at ecc side or not.
At ECC side BW team won't do any steps. Once source team maintain hier str then only you can maintain the same str at BW side.
Pls check with functional people. you may get some clue.
Thanks
Hi,
The ECC team has maintained the org unit hierarchy structure.but when i checked Hierarchy using program RSA1HCAT in source side, I see that all the hierarchies extractions in failed status(traffic light red).ECC team says they could run a report a on Hierarchies but in BW I could not see any.
Where the problem lies and any clues on how I should go forward.
Regards,Haritha
Hi,
RSA1HCAT status all red mean there is no proper connection of hier between ecc and bw.
You can check whether data source(0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER) pulls data or not at RSA3 source system. if it pulls then at ecc side it works fine. if not then ask source to make correction at hier.
Once you got data at rsa3, same data replicate into bw side and migrate bi 7. Do the rest of the design.
Thanks
Hi,
I have checked teh datasource at RSA3 and it is suucessful. It shows 4 records extracted.
IN BW in RSMO monitor also I could see that sattus is 4 records extarcted.
But when i go and click the hierrachy only root node is available,no structure is displayed.
why the structure is not getting build and populated.DO I need to manually create teh structure and then the extraction would fill the data.
Please let me know..
Thanks,
Haritha
hi,
Thru your TL, please check about this hier loads and schedules. if your at user location, ask them is any one using org unit hier at reporting level. as my guess they not. becuase there is no str at bw side. if not then discuss with TL or PM .
start doing at dev system and check the loading data. every thing was fine then move further.
You can check at RSA1, info provider, find the rorgunit iobj and check as shown in red box and check data flow. if loading are oging to target str will shows as shown below.
Thanks
The display data flow shows that loading is going on.
They do not have any report on Org unit Hier till now,but wants to build a report .
Now if I have to create a structure as per the source system,What if the structure changes in future .Do we need to modify the structure again .
As per customer this is not a good option to keep changing the struture everytime as it is expected the structure gets new add ons with each go-lives planned.
Why not the standard datasource 0Orgunit_HR01_hier not building a struture for us.Is it because we are using a custon infoobject Zorgunit.
Please advice,
Regards,
Haritha
Hi,
if data flow was connceted, then we won't see hiet str at Info objec--> hierarchy tab, maintain hier.
Check for hier str for Z iobj and orgunit. if there is no str. Discuss with respective teams and start doing. You check/ask the doc which are maintianed during development phase. you may get some idea.
Standard data source are always need to load standard info object only not for custom one.
Future changes are comes along with ecc side not only bw side. When we need changes then we need to change(at ECC and BW side) manual and move to prod.
Ex: like in GL account, when new account create in ecc side, if need that in hier str, we need to add ecc side and as well as at bw side also. future changes it won't be the same for all companies, its varies as their business. that's y sap may given enahancement or adding feasible.
Thanks
Thanks all for the sugesstions.
Do i need to create Hierarchy structure manually in BW.If so how could I do that.
Will not the 0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER create the strcuture and load data?
I am not able to see 0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER in BI7 version and Bw3.5 version is in saved status.I am not able to activate it.Does this effect in anyway the hierarchies.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Haritha

Hi Hari,
Your snap shows as cutom object zorgunit. as stated by by mate, check hier was defiend under ZORGUNIT or not . if not with help of ECC team. you need to create the same str hier at bw side.
Creating hier str is very easy one. first check the hier str was defiend under ZORGUNIT or not.
Thanks
Hi,
Do I need to create a structure since the infoobject org unit we are using is a Customized one and not the standard one.
If I have to create a structure ,then what if a new node is added in future in ECC.As at ECC side design for different coutries is still on and with each go-live a new node might be added in the Org Unit structure.
Please advice.

HR
Hi Haritha,
Why don't you replicate that particular datasource and activate it BW.
Then run the full load Infopackage to extract data.
If you are on BI 7.0, still the hierarchy datasource will be in BW 3.5 version, so don't try to migrate it. Use the same 3.5 datasource. BW 7.3 has give option to even migrate the hier. data sources to 7.x model.
Also talk to ECC team and ask them the T. Code to look at hierarchy at ECC side so that you can cross check.
I will say loading hierarchy using flat file is much more complicated as compare to extracting ECC hier using std datasource.
You can do it
Check below thread, may be helpful

Hi Vinod,
I tried replicating but no change.I could not get the structure.
IN ECC the org unit structure has evaluation path O-S-P.
DO i need to craete the hierarchy structure manually and then try to load or the standard BW datasource would create the structure?
If standard Datasource creates the structure and loads the data, what are the correct steps to follow.
Please help.

Haritha
Hi Haritha,
we can load Hierarchies in 3 ways.
1. Load the structure and data from ECC (for this we need to choose which hierarchy to load from ECC).
2. Create/maintain (Custom) structure of the hierarchy at BW side and load the data from ECC.
3. Create/maintain the structure at BW side and load the data from flatfile.
for your case I think you have to load the hierarchy from ECC, since 0ORGUNIT_HR01_HIER is a standard hierarchy and hope its already created and maintained in ECC.
just create/install the business content flow and create the Infopackage and choose the hierarchy in the infopackage from the available hierarchies from OLTP/ECC and trigger the load. it will bring the structure and data to BW.
Thanks,
venu

Hi Hari,
As seeing your screen, Hier not maintained to Org units.
With help ECC team you need to create hier str(same as ECC org hier str) at bw side. then only you can load data from ECC to BW.
Check with ecc team and start design org hier at bw side at Dev system.
Note: at last node level main info object are inserted. above levels text nodes are inserted.
Thanks

Hi
Go to edit and see if there is a modified hierarchy version coming up which you can activate The process chain might not activate the hierarchy and only loading it. So you need to fix that.
hope it helps
