Master Data Harmonization

Hi,

I have been studying about MDM. I do understand by now how does data come into MDM through XI and using Processes Chain goes in CI for Matching and Cleansing. After that once the Change Request is processed and Workitem is Activated the Data moves into the MDS DB.

What I dont understand is how & to what extent MDM manages the replication of clean Data back on MDC, what happends to old data. If new data goes into MDC then how does syncronization happen with Transaction data (assuming Transaction are created with duplicate IDs). Can some one please help.

Hi Parkash,

your current and past transactional data aren't affected by MDM. If Master Data in a CLient system got updated by the MDM Server, these updated data are used only for future transcations.

Thank you for the response.

Does R3 put a tag on all the duplicate records (old records before Harmonization) as obsolite and use the new unique record for future reference. If Yes, then what happens to the old transactions refering to the old Master data?

I hope you understood my case?
